Work Groups

Network & Collaborate

Our Work and Discussion Groups offer an unrivalled opportunity to network and collaborate, with some of the industry’s most prominent figures. Including representatives from relying parties, government agencies and standards bodies.

Identity Assurance

We are responsible for maintaining the Kantara Identity Assurance Framework (IAF).
We supports our governance and assurance programs and develops the standards, processes and practices that underpin assurance around the use of identity and credential information.

Anchored Notice and Consent Receipt

Our work updates the Consent Receipt work at Kantara which began in 2013, in the Information and Sharing Work Group and later the Consent and Information Sharing WG, and now the ANCR WG.

Privacy Enhancing Mobile Credentials

We are creating a set of requirements and conformance criteria to protect the privacy of individuals holding and using mobile credentials such as mobile driving licenses.
This includes technology ecosystems based on ISO/IEC 18013-5 compliant mobile driving licenses.

Resilient Identifiers for Underserved Populations

Vulnerable and underserved populations are often excluded from online resources and services that require digital credentials. So we are working towards establishing identifiers and access management (IAM) solutions that respect privacy and reduce barriers to adoption.

User Managed Access

We are developing the specifications that will enable an individual user to control how and where their data is shared, between service providers and online services acting on the their behalf.

Deepfake Threats

Realistic simulations of human voice, video and text created by “Generative AI” systems have proliferated in recent years. This leads to the enhanced risk that Identity Proofing and Verification (IDPV) systems will be unable to distinguish real from fake signals. Because of this we are researching how IDPV systems could be fooled by these  “deepfakes”, and help inform purchasers about AI-related techniques that may decrease the effectiveness of IDPV services.
